Welcome to the very first installment of The Discerning Eye’s Mouthpiece
We wish to offer ourselves as a service to our worldly community by simplifying the Art Game. What is Art? What purpose does it serve in your life? and How does it affect you? If you’re like most people, your answer to that question might be considered inadequate in some circles. However we, The Discerning Eye, aim to bring real and sincere forms of Art to our community through providing our readers with pertinent information on local and national Art events, Artist’s portfolios , literary art and commentary from our community coupled with simple educational facts to enhance the reader’s understanding of what they see and hear, on simple and accessible platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and this blog called MouthPiece.
In the not too distant future we will acquire our non-profit status and through fundraising events, be able to provide a multitude of services to our readership including a print magazine featuring local events and critiques and also be able to provide concrete stepping-stones for artists in our community to rise up through exposure and be considered as talented as the more recognized and illustrious artists of today.
Art is everywhere, and it is not only for the rich and famous, it is for everyone and should be accessible to everyone, the creator and the patron alike. Mouthpiece is the way to stay connected in this seemingly exclusive world. There is so much innovation and creativity going on all around us, we just have to know about it to be able to experience it. And in these days of social networking, it is easier than ever to spread the word about a ‘one of a kind’ event, or an online project, or to just to stay current and be involved.
Mouthpiece is the visual arts, music, dance, theater and fashion. Mouthpiece is history. Mouthpiece is the future. Mouthpiece is real and confrontational. Mouthpiece is everything in between, happening in the PA, NY, NJ, DE and MD areas. However, Mouthpiece cannot be everywhere at the same time so we welcome your discerning eye, your comments, pictures and ideas. Mouthpiece is you, and it is us. It is our creative society for the betterment of ourselves.
